Update on Special Meeting Tuesday Night at EMHS

The HOA Board of Directors called the upcoming meeting on Tuesday night at Eagle Mountain High School in response to a group of homeowners who petitioned for a Special Meeting to vote on rescinding the 2025 Budget approved by the Board. Although the petition was found to be invalid, the Board decided not to spend additional time revising it. Instead, we proceeded with scheduling the Special Meeting as requested by homeowners, making the petition’s validity a non-issue.
On Friday, we announced a change to the Special Meeting. It was initially set to be a non-voting session, allowing more time for collaboration with the Finance Committee to explore alternative solutions. However, after further discussions, it became clear that there are still areas where consensus has not been reached, and some members of the Finance Committee are not fully aligned. Additionally, there have been demands that not all Class A members be allowed to vote, which has led us to reconsider our approach.
To clear up any confusion and move forward, here’s what will happen next:
1. The meeting on Tuesday night will proceed as originally planned.
2. The vote will take place as scheduled.
3. The message posted on Friday, suggesting a change to the meeting format, has been withdrawn and is no longer valid.
4. All Attendees (except Essex and Law Enforcement) will be required to show proof of residency/ownership (DL with address, utility bill, or deed) due to the sensitive information in the meeting.
The Board will be present at the meeting to address as many questions as possible and provide clarity on the situation.
